Jim DiVitale has been behind the lens for more than 3 decades, producing award-winning advertising photography for ad agencies, design firms, and corporations nationwide. But he’s not just a photographer. He’s an artist. An educator. A writer. And a pioneer whose vision of the future told him to walk away from film in 1992 and become a digital imaging pacesetter. Today, industry leaders like Adobe, X-Rite, Lensbabies, NIK Software, Canon USA and OnOne Software look to Jim to test future product releases. His opinion influences the state of the art. His digital photography and photo illustrations have been featured in, among others, Graphis Photo, Print, Archive Magazine, Create Magazine, Creativity, Rangefinder, Professional Photographer, Photoshop User Magazine, Digital Output Magazine, Digital Imaging, Photo District News, and After Capture Magazine. Jim found his second calling, teaching, before he had even opened his own studio. As a member of Professional Photographers of America for more than 25 years, Jim has earned the Master of Photography, Master of Electronic Imaging and Photographic Craftsman degrees, and he’s a PPA-Approved Photography Instructor. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Photographers, a member of Cameracraftsmen of America and a digital Imaging instructor for Adobe, Canon and X-Rite. As an trainer with KelbyOne, Jim has been an instructor in Adobe Photoshop, digital photography, and color management and at Photoshop World since 1999, and has authored several Adobe Photoshop training DVD’s including a set of digital imaging tutorials with Kelby Training On-Line. He’s lectured at MAC Design, HOW Design, Seybold, Photo Plus Expo, Imaging USA, Orvieto Fotographia, Photo Fusion, APA, ASMP, WPPI, NECCC, and the World Council of Professional Photographers. He’s made presentations to students and faculty at art schools nationwide, including Brooks Institute, San Francisco’s Academy of Art and Ringling College of Art and Design.
