My Story
Hi, I’m Jessie Hayden.
I suppose it was inevitable that I would become a teacher.
You see, teaching is in my blood. I am, in fact, a third generation teacher.
After earning a Masters of Science in Applied Linguistics/Teaching English as a second language (ESL) over 20 years ago, I began teaching ESL to adults and in non-profit programs and in higher education settings.
I got into instructional design and online teaching and learning about 15 years ago. I became enthralled with the architecture of learning design, the aesthetic and rhetorical nuances of visual communication, and the ever emerging educational technologies that continue to expand the boundaries of education beyond time and space.
Of the many rewards my career has given me, the greatest by far has been serving as an agent of positive change in my students’ lives – to see my students use their newly acquired knowledge and skills to fulfill their goals and to create the lives of their dreams.
