Burned $250 on a 'freelance biz coach' from a Facebook group and got nothing but PDFs
Saw a post in an ABQ freelancers FB group about a coach who helps people get retainer clients, and she charged $250 for a 4 week program. I paid up because I was tired of chasing one off gigs around Albuquerque. What I got was 6 PDFs and a weekly group call where she just talked about her own journey for 45 minutes. I asked one question about pricing and she told me to 'trust the process.' Honestly the free advice in this subreddit has done more for me than that whole thing.

$250 for 6 PDFs works out to about $41 per file, which is honestly a better rate than I got from my last "coach" who charged $300 and sent me a Canva template I could have made myself in 20 minutes. The "trust the process" line kills me because that is what people say when they have no actual process to explain. A 45 minute group call where she just talks about herself is not coaching, that is a podcast you paid to be on. For future reference, if a coach cannot answer a basic pricing question with real numbers, that tells you everything about what you are buying. Stick with the free stuff here, at least when someone gives bad advice in this subreddit you did not pay for it.
