Finally tried raising rates on a repeat client in Albuquerque

I had this one client I'd been doing social media posts for at $25 an hour for like 2 years. Last month I worked up the courage to ask for $35 and honestly expected them to say no. But they just said 'okay' and now I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Has anyone else found their regular clients are more flexible than they assume?

Told my HVAC guy I needed a raise and he didn't blink.

Bet he's seen way worse requests from homeowners who want their AC fixed for free because they "know a guy." HVAC techs deal with so many people trying to haggle or complain that they just tune it out completely. Probably thought you were about to ask him to knock 50 bucks off a repair bill or something.

@hernandez.gavin makes a good point about people just tuning out the bargaining. It's like once you show you're not gonna be a jerk about pricing, they just go with it. Seen it happen with my own shop - clients who've been around a while are usually way more chill than you'd think.
