Hit 20 referrals from other freelancers this year and it changed how I price my work
I always figured other local freelancers were competition, so I kept my rates and my contacts close. Then in January a designer I know sent me a client who needed help with a booking page, and it snowballed into 20 referrals total from 6 different people in Albuquerque by this month. What got me was that not one of them asked for a cut, they just wanted someone reliable to hand work to. I started quoting 15 percent higher on those jobs because referrals come in warmer and close faster, and nobody pushed back. Anyone else here track where their work comes from, or do you just take it as it lands?
