Picked a coworking space over coffee shop hopping and my productivity tanked

I spent my first 6 months freelancing bouncing between Starbucks and Flying Star, then decided to drop $120 a month on a desk at FatPipe last August. The silence and lack of background noise actually made me less focused, and I ended up missing the chaotic energy of people ordering lattes. Has anyone else gone back to a less professional setup because it just worked better for their brain?

I remember reading somewhere that some people actually focus better with a certain level of background noise, it's like the brain needs that white noise to stay engaged. Your mileage may vary, but sounds like the coffee shop vibe was your sweet spot.

Could there be something to the idea that your brain is actually working harder to filter out distractions, which keeps it from zoning out? Like the mental effort keeps you locked in.
