Saw a huge shift in a freelancer's portfolio over just 4 months
I noticed this web designer I follow went from basic template sites to these really polished custom layouts. What changed was they started charging more and that forced them to only take higher budget projects. Has anyone else seen their work improve after raising their rates?

Never thought about it that way but you're totally right. Higher rates push better work.

Exactly. I learned this the hard way when I was starting out. I was charging fifty bucks for a full branding package and getting burned out with endless revisions. Once I raised my rates to something that actually reflected the time I was putting in, the clients changed too. They respected the process more, they gave clearer feedback, and they actually listened when I suggested something. The cheap clients always think they know better because they're paying so little.
