Swapped my pricing after a chat at Flying Star on Central
I was at Flying Star last Tuesday grabbing coffee and overheard two freelancers talking about how they charge per project instead of per hour. One of them said she nets way more because clients don't watch the clock, they just want the work done. I've been doing hourly for 3 years and always felt rushed, so I tried it on my last graphic design gig and made $200 more than my usual estimate. Has anyone else switched away from hourly pricing and seen a big difference?

No that's actually genius lol, I did the same thing with my web dev stuff and clients stopped nitpicking every little change. Way less stress and more money when you just quote the whole job upfront.

Wait, you quoted the whole job upfront and clients stopped nitpicking? That's wild. I always figured they'd fight harder if they couldn't tweak things mid-project. But honestly, that makes total sense. They're locked into the price so every little change is just part of the deal. No more "can you just add this real quick" 10 times. I bet that kills the endless back and forth dead. Must feel good to just say "here's the price, take it or leave it" and actually have them take it.
