Switched from hourly billing to flat project rates after a 3-month trial and wow what a difference

I was pulling my hair out tracking every 15 minutes for a $2,000 web design gig, but since I switched to flat fees I've made $1,200 more this month alone, anyone else find that hourly rates just punish you for being fast?

Dude flat rates are the way to go honestly. I used to bill hourly for logo designs and would get penalized for cranking them out fast. Switched to a flat $800 per logo package and now I'm pulling in way more without stressing every minute. It's like the system finally rewards you for being good at your job instead of dragging it out.

and that's exactly what my boy chris figured out too. he was doing these branding packages and charging by the hour for like two years. dude was a beast at it but his checks were always the same no matter how fast he worked. then he switched to flat rates for his web design gigs and now he books less clients but makes way more. he told me his secret was just being really upfront about what they get and sticking to it no matter how quick he finishes. it's crazy how much simpler your brain gets when you stop watching the clock and just focus on the work.

Switched to flat rates for my electrical work too (small commercial stuff) and it was the best move I ever made. Hourly billing made me feel like a liar every time I finished a job quick. Now I quote a price upfront and either make bank or learn a lesson, no clock watching either way.
