The day a client paid me in homemade salsa

Last Tuesday, I finished a website for a local chili shop. The owner was thrilled, but his card got declined. He looked at me, dead serious, and said 'I got something better.' He came back with 12 mason jars of his 'award winning' salsa. My car smelled like cilantro for three days. Has anyone else gotten a weird payment instead of cash?

Yeah, that weird mix-up reminds me of a place near my old apartment. They had "BBQ" in giant letters but honestly, their best thing was this potato salad. It was the kind you'd drive across town for, with little bits of pickle and a perfect amount of mustard. Makes you wonder about names, you know? Like @blairm77's chili salsa guy, maybe they just get known for one thing and have to roll with it.

Sometimes the best part of a place is the side dish nobody talks about. That potato salad sounds like the real star, not the BBQ they advertise. Maybe @blairm77's salsa guy should just lean into it and call the place "The Salsa Spot".
