Unpopular opinion: millwork samples are a waste unless you charge for them
I took on a $4,800 cabinet job after giving three free maple samples and the client still picked a color I warned against, so now I charge $75 per sample and that actually filters out the tire kickers for good, has anyone else tried charging for samples?

Did you warn them in writing before they picked the bad color?
