Vent: The 2 hour 'quick edit' from a repeat client that keeps getting worse
I did a $150 video cut for a local shop last week and they sent back a list of 14 changes, 9 of which contradicted the original brief they gave me. This is the third time this same client has pulled this, and each time they act like I'm the one being difficult when I ask for a written revision list. Anyone else in Abq dealing with clients who treat 'freelancer' like it means 'unlimited do-overs'?

My buddy Jake lost a whole weekend redoing a logo that was never approved in writing lol.

never approved in writing" hits hard because I've totally been there. One time my cousin spent like three days building a whole website for a guy who kept saying "yeah that looks great" over the phone. Then the guy saw it in person and said he wanted a completely different color scheme and layout, like from scratch. Turns out his business partner was the one who actually made decisions and he never even saw the first version. My cousin didn't even get paid for the first site, he just ate the hours because he felt bad. Now he makes everyone sign a one page agreement before he even opens Photoshop, no exceptions. It's crazy how a quick email saying "we approve this" can save you a whole weekend of misery.
