A client said my AI summaries were missing the point

They told me the tool I was using just spit out facts without the 'so what'. I switched to prompting for the main argument first, then the details. Anyone else had to fix how they ask an AI for info?

Oh man, that's the classic AI problem. You gotta tell it to explain why the facts matter, not just list them. Your fix is exactly right.

Exactly, it's like the difference between a parts list and an instruction manual. An AI can dump every fact about an engine onto the page. A person knows you need to explain how those parts work together to make the car move. The "why" is what turns information into something you can actually use. Without that link, it's just a stack of details that don't mean anything. That's probably why so many AI answers feel hollow even when they're technically correct.

Wait, gray314 said that's the classic AI problem? I always thought that was just bad writing from anyone. Telling it to explain the facts makes total sense now.

Yeah, that "parts list vs instruction manual" thing hits home lol. I've asked for help fixing my sink and gotten back a list of pipe diameters. Cool facts, zero help.
