Is AI writing tools actually faster or just different? I hit a wall last week

I spent 6 hours trying to get an AI generator to write a simple status report for a project, then did it myself in 20 minutes. Has anyone else found that the "savings" from AI often gets eaten up by debugging its output or is that just me?

My buddy tried that and ended up deleting more than he kept lol.

The 6 hours thing is so real. I spent basically a whole afternoon trying to get an AI to write a meeting recap for my team, and it kept adding fake action items and wrong dates. Gave up and typed it out in 10 minutes flat.
