My brother told me his new AI tool can write a whole book in a day and it made me stop

We were just talking about his new job at a small tech place in Denver. He said they built an AI that doesn't just help with ideas, it can write a full novel draft from a one-sentence prompt. He said, 'It's not about replacing the writer, it's about giving them the clay to shape.' That hit me. I always thought these tools were just for fixing grammar or making lists. But a whole story? It made me rethink what 'creative' even means now. If the machine makes the first big chunk, is the human work just editing? I'm still turning it over in my head. Has anyone else had a moment where an AI tool made you question a basic idea you had about a job or a hobby?

Just giving them the clay" sounds like a fancy way to say it does the hard part.

Read an article about an artist who only prompts the AI. Calls it "curating" now. Whole job changed.

My buddy Mark paid 500 bucks for a "digital art piece" last month. It was just a fancy AI prompt receipt. He's still mad about it.
