My notebook habit was killing my AI workflow
I used to handwrite every prompt idea before typing it into the tool. Thought it made me more thoughtful. Then last week I tried generating 30 logo concepts and someone asked why my notes were all over the place. Realized the AI remembers context way better than my scribbles. Now I just paste raw thoughts and iterate in the chat itself. Has anyone else ditched a pre-work habit once they saw the output quality jump?

The notebook was doing all the thinking for me, turns out. Now I just vomit whatever's in my head into the prompt box and let the AI play therapist. Last week I typed "bird but make it angry" and got a killer mascot. My old notes would've taken 20 minutes and still ended up as a stick figure with a confused look.

...and honestly that's exactly what happened to me about two months ago. I was still doing this whole "brain dump in a notebook first" thing, thinking I was being clever or whatever. Then I noticed I was spending more time rewriting my messy handwriting than actually talking to the AI. So I just started typing half-baked thoughts straight into the chat, like literally three words and a question mark. The output got better because the AI fills in the gaps and asks me what I actually meant, which my notebook never did. Now I only grab the physical notebook if I'm away from my computer, but even then I just snap a photo and paste it in raw. Way less friction, way better results, and honestly my notes are just for me now, not for the AI.
