Serious question, why does everyone pretend AI image tools are ready for real client work?
I do paint and drywall estimates for a living and decided to see if AI could help me make quick mockups for clients. Two weeks ago I dropped $30 on one of the big image generators, fed it photos of a finished room from a job in Toledo, and asked it to show the same room in a soft green. It gave me back something that looked amazing, perfect light, clean lines, the works. Then a client asked me to match that exact green on a real wall and I realized the tool had invented a color that does not exist in any paint deck I own. I burned two days trying to get it to hold a real color chip and it just kept drifting. There is no way I am handing a homeowner a picture of a room that cannot be built. Has anybody actually gotten these things to respect a real color value, or is everyone just showing off the pretty fake ones?
