That time my AI art generator made a hand with 7 fingers during a live demo
I was showing off my new diffusion model at a small meetup in Portland last Tuesday, and it generated a portrait where the hand had 7 fingers and the thumb was on the wrong side. People started laughing and I had to quickly pull up a backup image from my test runs to save face. It made me wonder if we're pushing these things too fast without checking the basics like anatomy. Has anyone else had a public fail like that and figured out a good way to recover on the spot?

pushing these things too fast without checking the basics" - I get the frustration, but that's kind of the whole point of testing in public. You catch weird stuff like seven fingers and fix it for the next version. That's how this stuff works, not some sign we're moving too fast.
