Tried the no-code route for a spreadsheet mess and it kinda worked

I spent last Tuesday building a simple AI workflow with Zapier and ChatGPT to sort my volunteer scheduling instead of doing it by hand, took maybe 2 hours after weeks of hemming and hawing. Has anyone else found those auto-pilot tools actually stick, or do they just make more cleanup later?

That "kinda worked" part is the real kicker, because most people don't talk about the hidden maintenance tax on these things. The Zapier workflow will be fine until someone's Google form changes a field name or a volunteer's email bounces weird, and then you're debugging a black box at 11pm instead of just moving cells around. The trick that nobody mentions is to build a tiny manual fallback into the system from day one, so the automation is a timesaver but not a single point of failure.
