Vent: 3 years ago I watched a demo in Austin where an AI wrote a whole app in 10 minutes, and it still can't do my dishes
Three years ago at a small meetup in Austin, a guy typed one sentence into a code box and it spit out a working app before my coffee got cold. Last week I tried that same tool to fix a simple bug in my own project and it broke two other things instead. So we're supposed to believe this stuff is about to run the world, but it trips over a missing comma? I keep hearing from folks at my office that agents are the next big leap, yet I've still never seen one book a dentist visit without messing up the date. Has anyone here actually had an AI agent handle a real multi step task, or is that still a demo trick?
