How I wrecked my air fryer in 3 minutes with parchment paper

I thought I was being smart lining the basket with parchment paper for easier cleanup. But I didn't weigh it down with food first and the fan sucked it right up into the heating element - melted plastic smell everywhere. Has anyone else had their air fryer fail because of a dumb shortcut like that?

Learning the hard way with a silicone liner fixed that issue for me.

Hard lesson but silicone liners are a game changer. Straight up fixed my issues too.
