I finally tried crisping up leftover pizza in the air fryer instead of the microwave
So last night I had two slices of pepperoni from Tuesday night just sitting in the fridge. Normally I’d nuke em for 30 seconds and deal with the soggy mess. But I figured why not toss one in the air fryer at 375 for like 4 minutes. Man the crust came out actually crunchy and the cheese got all bubbly on top without burning. The other slice I microwaved as a control and it was just sad rubbery dough. I learned that the air fryer basically revives leftover pizza way better than any other method I’ve tried. Has anyone else ditched the microwave for reheating stuff like fries or chicken wings in the air fryer?

I gotta push back a little on this. The microwave has its place if you know the trick. I'll do a paper towel under the slice and another dry one on top, nuke for 45 seconds, and the crust stays firm while the cheese melts perfectly. The air fryer is good, no doubt, but it dries out my pizza too much. @charlie198, you mentioned the crust snapping, but I actually prefer a softer chew on reheated pizza, not cracker texture. Plus, the air fryer takes way longer and I'm impatient when I'm hungry. I tried both side by side once and honestly the microwave won for speed and moisture. Just my two cents cause everyone raves about the air fryer like it's the only option.

So you're telling me I've been ruining my leftover pizza for years with the microwave? I used to think the microwave was fine because it's fast, but after trying the air fryer on some day-old cheese slices, the crust actually snapped when I bit into it. It's like night and day, I honestly can't go back now.

Wait the crust snapped? Like actually cracked when you bit into it? I've never had that happen with any reheating method, that sounds wild.
