My grandma watched me pull burnt fries out of the air fryer and asked where the oil was
She was sitting at my kitchen table in Bakersfield back in 2019, watching me shake a basket of frozen fries at 400 degrees. When I dumped them onto a plate, she just stared and asked where the oil went, since she fried everything in a cast iron skillet with a inch of Crisco for 50 years. I told her the air does the work and she laughed, then made me write the temp and time on an index card for her fridge. She passed that card around to her church friends for a year. Has anyone else had a family member totally confused by how this thing cooks?
