Shoutout to the frozen french fry bag that lied to me

Last week, the instructions said 12 minutes at 400 degrees, but they came out like burnt twigs at 8. I'm in Chicago and my kitchen still smells like failure. Anyone have a real time and temp for those crinkle cuts?

Saw a hack online about lowering the temp for frozen fries.

Nah that hack is kinda backwards tbh. Lower temp just makes em soggy and takes longer. Gotta go hot and fast for that crisp.

Lower temp works if you par cook em first. Toss em in the microwave for like 2 minutes, then fry at 375. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. Been doing it for years.
