Warning: my Cosori air fryer basket handle snapped off last Tuesday

I was pulling out a batch of frozen fries and the plastic clip on the handle just broke clean off. It happened after about 8 months of pretty normal use, maybe 4 times a week. Now I have to use tongs to pull the hot basket out, which is a huge pain. Has anyone else had this happen and found a good way to fix it?

Cosori actually has a two-year warranty for stuff like that!

But grantnelson, doesn't that warranty often hinge on their own judgment of what's a defect?

Yeah, but that warranty only covers defects, not normal wear and tear. If the non-stick coating starts flaking after a year of daily use, they'll likely call that expected wear. I had a similar issue with a different brand's air fryer basket. They wanted a receipt and photos, then said the peeling was from metal utensils, which I never used. It's a hassle.

Actually, the warranty should cover that. A handle breaking from normal use isn't wear and tear, it's a part failing. Like @nora_webb51 hinted, they might try to call it something else, but a plastic clip snapping off under normal pulling is a defect in the material or design. I'd push back if they give you trouble. My friend had a similar break on a different model and they sent a whole new basket after he sent a picture. Just be clear you weren't yanking it or doing anything weird.
