Found out a 747 has about 240 feet of fuel line and that number got stuck in my head all day
Was flipping through an old Boeing maintenance manual in the break room at DFW last month and saw that figure, and now I catch myself looking at every fuel truck like it's hauling way less than I pictured, so what numbers from the books have stuck with you guys?
Wait, 240 feet is just the tubing, right? Does that include the lines running out to each engine and the APU, or is that the main trunk only? I ask because once you add up all four engines plus the crossfeed and jettison lines it has to be way more than that. And are we talking about both wings combined or per side? Somebody at your shop has to have the actual breakdown, because that number is sitting in my head now too and I need it settled.
