Honestly, I've seen three different guys at our hangar skip the final torque check on those new composite panel fasteners.
Ngl, it matters because the spec sheet from Boeing for the 787 work clearly states they can back out under vibration if you don't. Anyone else run into crews getting lazy with the new materials?

Man, that's scary. I saw a tech skip the wet install on a sealant once, same lazy mindset. The book is there for a reason, especially with all these new plastics and glues. It's not like the old aluminum where you could sometimes eyeball it.

Ugh, true. Makes you wonder if the training even covers the "why" behind those steps anymore. Just ticking boxes without understanding the chemistry.

That sealant thing @jesse_lopez14 mentioned is a perfect example. The new stuff just doesn't forgive a single missed step like the old materials did.

Wait, they're skipping the final torque on composite fasteners? That's literally the step that keeps them from shaking loose (which the spec sheet says will happen). How do you even walk away from a job knowing you left that out?
