LAX overnight parking audit caught 14 trucks ignoring the brake check line

I was down at the LAX cargo ramp last Tuesday doing a spot inspection and I noticed something that ground my gears. Fourteen freight trucks rolled through the brake check zone without even slowing down, and I saw two guys just wave them through. Those checks take maybe 90 seconds per truck, but skipping them is how you get a 40,000 pound trailer kissing the tail of a 737. I called it into the lead mechanic and he said the same thing happens every holiday push when they are short staffed. Has anyone else seen gate crews rush these checks when the schedule backs up, or is this just an LAX problem?
