Logging 3,000 hours as an A&P and the number still gets me

Hit 3,000 total hours of logged wrench time on a 737 flap track job last Thursday. Didn't realize until I added up my logbook for an IA renewal, and it just sat there staring back at me. Three thousand hours is a lot of safety wire and coffee, but it also means I've seen enough torque specs to know when something feels off before the manual says so. Anyone else ever get weirdly caught off guard by their own hour count, or am I just the only one who stops keeping track on purpose?

Figure out what your logbook is really counting, and you'll see the hours are just the tip of it. The real number that matters is how many of those hours you spent working next to the same two or three guys who bail you out when a seal pops. That's the part you can't log, and it's the part that actually keeps the plane in the air.
