Picked the old torque wrench over the digital one, no regrets
Everyone in my hangar swore by the digital torque wrenches, said they're more accurate and easier to read. But I kept using my old beam style Snap-On for the last 6 months on every critical bolt, especially the prop flange nuts on the King Airs. Last week I had to do a double check on a landing gear torque link and my beam wrench matched the digital reading exactly, every single time. The digital one feels nice but it beeps at you and needs batteries, and I trust that simple needle over a screen any day. Has anyone else stuck with old tech just because it never let you down, even when management pushes the new stuff?
