Serious question, got a Gulfstream out of Savannah with zero write-ups on the first pass
Did a full phase inspection on a G550 at the Savannah service center this week, and my inspector signed off the whole squawk list without a single rework. 47 items, no comebacks. I've been turning wrenches for 9 years and that has never happened to me once. Does it ever feel normal when nothing bites you, or do you still wait for the other shoe to drop?
Watching that many items clear on the first pass must have felt like waiting for a prank to be revealed. Nine years in and the one time the aviation gods smile on you, your brain refuses to trust it because it has been trained by every other job to expect a punchline. Honestly, that little voice asking where the catch is probably keeps you sharp, since the day you stop double checking is the day something slips through. Enjoy the win, because a clean phase with no rework is rarer than finding a free crew meal on a long overnight. Next time you will probably get 47 items back with red tags just to even out the universe.
