That one Tuesday where every torque wrench lied to me

Last month I had a shift that made me question my whole routine. I was doing a routine inspection on a Cessna 172 and the gear retraction test kept failing on the right side. I checked the torque on the actuator bolts, felt fine, but the readings on my dial wrench were all over the place. Turns out the adapter sleeve had a hairline crack and it was flexing under load. I swapped it out with a spare from my personal kit, re-tested, and everything passed in 20 minutes. It made me realize I trust my tools way too much without actually testing them first. Anyone else had a tool fail in a sneaky way that cost you half a day? I'm thinking about getting a digital torque tester now just for peace of mind.
