Torque wrench calibration check caught my bad habit in Denver

After 5 years of trusting my clicker without testing it, I ran a calibration check on a 1/2 inch drive at a friend's shop and found it was clicking 12 ft-lb early, so now I check every wrench every 6 months, has anyone else had a silent failure like that?

Damn, that sucks but honestly it's super common. I've had a torque wrench drift on me too and it makes you wonder how many bolts you've been fudging this whole time. Good call on the 6 month check though, that's the smart move.

My buddy found his was off 30% after a year. Scary stuff lol.
