A crusty installer in Reno said to stop zip tying to conduit, and 3 service calls later I get it
He told me this 4 years ago after my 6th callback at a gas station on Wells Ave, and I smiled and kept doing it my way. Last Tuesday a tech spent 2 hours chasing a ground fault through 40 feet of zip tied conduit runs. What's the dumb advice you ignored that came back around?

Zip ties are the duct tape of the electrical world, cheap and easy until they bite you in the ass. Chasing a ground fault through 40 feet of snug conduit sounds like a special kind of hell, all because somebody wanted it to look pretty. The old crusty guys always know, we just gotta eat crow long enough to figure it out.
