A false alarm at a bank in Springfield made me change my testing routine
I was finishing an install at the First National branch downtown last month when the motion sensor I just mounted triggered during my walk test. The central station got the signal and called the police before I could cancel it. Two cruisers showed up, and I had to explain everything to the manager who was not happy. Now I always call the monitoring center to put the account on test before I even power up the panel. Has anyone else had a close call like that during a final walkthrough?

Oh man, my buddy had the cops show up at a pharmacy once because he forgot to put his tester on silent. The owner was so mad, lol. He's super careful about test modes now.

My old neighbor's car alarm went off every Tuesday for a month before he figured out the schedule. People just get used to ignoring alarms now.
