DSC panel went dead on a Friday night install in Charlotte
Had a PC1832 completely lock up mid programming last Friday, no response to keypad commands at all. Had to swap it out with a spare from the truck and redo all the zones from scratch. Anybody run into this with the newer firmware versions?

Had a PC1864 do the same thing during a firmware update last month, ended up just hard resetting it three times before it finally woke up. Might be a bad batch of boards hitting the market right now.

Hard resets are the cybersecurity of alarm panels.

Oh man, I heard something about this from a buddy who works at a security supply place. He said the PC1864 boards coming out of one specific factory have been having this weird issue where the firmware just locks up mid-update. Something about the memory chips they used, they're not playing nice with the newer firmware versions. Hard resetting a few times seems to be the only way to brute force it back to life, it's like the board needs a couple kicks before it remembers how to boot right.
