First time I used a wireless zone expander on a tricky retrofit in Austin

Tbh I thought it would take me half a day to run wires through that 1960s brick building but the honeywell 5800 worked perfect and saved me about 3 hours of drilling, anyone else had that kind of luck with wireless on older structures?

@henryr45 had a point about those bricks, I read somewhere that old mortar can mess with signals too.

Those old bricks can play tricks on wireless signals when you least expect it though.

Bought a mesh system specifically because my old router couldn't punch through these 1920s walls. Had to put one node in the hallway closet just to cover the kitchen. Still get dead spots in the bathroom, which is weird because it's like ten feet from the node. Mortar is wild, man. It's like the house was built to keep wifi out.
