PSA: That tamper switch clip from the hardware store is garbage, buy the real one
Had a panel start throwing random tamper faults last Wednesday on a job in Austin. Chased it for 2 hours, swapped the sensor twice, still showing open. Turns out the cheap plastic clip I grabbed from a big box store was flexing in the heat, so the switch barely made contact. Replaced it with the OEM metal bracket from my van and it's been solid for 4 days. Anyone else had those universal clips fail on outdoor installs, or is it just me?

Plastic flexed at 118 degrees in Phoenix last summer, same exact thing. Wasted a whole afternoon on a school roof before I finally torqued it right. Metal clips are the only thing that hold on stucco walls too, that cheap stuff just gives up in the heat. I keep a pack of the real brackets in every truck now, lesson learned the hard way. The universal ones are fine for drywall inside but outside they're basically a ticking timer.
