Spent $180 on a cheap toner probe kit in 2019 and it paid for itself in one afternoon
Back when I was doing mostly residential prewires around Fort Worth, I grabbed a no-name toner probe kit off a supply house clearance shelf for about $180 because my old one died mid-job. Two weeks later it traced a buried zone wire through a finished wall in a 1970s ranch house where the client's slab sensor kept falsing, and it found the nick in under 40 minutes instead of me fishing blind. Anyone still running a cheap toner, or did you finally upgrade once it started picking up the furnace motor hum?
