Why does nobody talk about door contacts on metal frames
Walked a new build in Cleveland last month and every exterior door on the place was a hollow metal frame with the contact screwed straight into the jamb. No spacer, no bracket, just a recessed contact mashed into sheet metal that flexes every time the door slams. I put my meter on one and it read intermittent open with the door shut, and the building was only 8 months old. Builder says it passed inspection, so it must be fine. Any of you using a proper bracket or surface mount on steel, or do you just eat the callback in year two?
