Cabling job in Portland took 14 hours after I changed my climb plan
I used to think installing a heavy cable system was just about getting the hardware up there fast. Then I did a big maple off Burnside last month where my first rigging point turned out to be rotten inside, not visible from the ground. Had to reset everything through a higher union and use a second friction saver, which turned a 6 hour job into 14. Anyone else ever rebuild their whole approach mid-climb because a limb looked solid but sounded hollow when you knocked on it?

Tap every branch first and carry a second set of blocks, saved me twice already.
