ISA study guide said root loss of 20 percent can kill a mature oak in 3 years
Was flipping through the ISA Certified Arborist study guide prepping for my retake and hit that stat, 20 percent of the root system gone and a mature oak can decline for 3 straight years before it dies. I've been way too casual about trenching near drip lines on residential jobs. How close to the trunk do you all actually flag off before you let a client run a utility trench?
