Shoutout to the guy who showed me the 3-cut method on a huge oak limb in Charlotte
I was working a removal last Tuesday and this old timer on the crew saw me struggling with a heavy, leaning branch. He walked over, grabbed my handsaw, and said 'watch this' before making three quick cuts that dropped it perfectly into the lay. I've been doing it wrong for years. What's the best trick you've ever been shown on a job site?

That rope trick kimr91 mentioned is a perfect example. It's wild how the best tricks are usually the simplest ones that just make sense. Guys like @wesley639 who think they know everything miss out on learning those little things that actually save your back.

Used to think a straight cut was fine until I saw a guy use a rope to guide a limb down between two sheds. He tied it off, cut from below first, then finished the top cut. The rope kept it from swinging wild. Changed how I handle anything near a fence or building now. Simple trick but it saves so much headache.
