Shoutout to the old-timer who told me to listen to the tree more than the client
He said, 'The tree will tell you what it needs if you're quiet for a minute,' after I rushed a big oak prune in Cincinnati. Has anyone else had a piece of advice that slowed you down for the better?

My boss told me to listen to the grill. It mostly just tells me I'm burning things.

Yeah, that "listen to the grill" advice is so vague it's almost funny, @skyler_johnson32. Mine just makes a sad little hissing sound when the grease hits the drip pan, which is my cue to panic. It sounds like your grill is just a real critic.

Right? My old grill would start popping like it was trying to scare me off. One time a flare-up happened and it sounded like a tiny angry dragon was in there. I just stood there with the tongs like an idiot. Now every little noise makes me jump.
