Snapped my climbing line on a routine limb walk yesterday

Was working a big red oak in Asheville when my 9mm Yale line just gave way mid-step - thank god my lanyard caught me. Anyone else ever had a brand new rope fail like that?

09mm yale blue streak snapped on me back in 2019 during a simple redirect. no signs of damage either. the rope was less than 3 months old. i sent it back to yale and they said it was a manufacturing defect. they gave me a replacement but i never trusted that brand again after that. switched to teufelberger and never looked back. you gotta report that to the manufacturer fr.

routine limb walk" ain't the phrase id use but i feel you. had a brand new rope snap on me once while i was setting a pulley, scared the crap out of me. still have no idea why it happened, just kinda gave up.

Everything has a 50/50 chance of failing until it actually does, kind of a universal rule.
