The town tree crew in Milwaukee butchered a 100 year old oak last spring and everyone clapped.

I was out there trying to save it with some cable bracing and they just hacked it to a stump because "it was cheaper." Am I the only one who thinks homeowners should have more say before the city goes full chainsaw on historic trees?

City crews and trees, that's a combo I know too well... I once put a nail through my foot trying to brace one.
