A client in Seattle said my 'ask me anything' approach was too open and it actually helped
I used to just post a general 'ask me anything' thread here, but a client told me it felt like I was fishing for questions instead of offering specific help. So now I start with a clear topic, like 'ask me about plumbing rough-in for a kitchen remodel', before opening it up. Has anyone else found that being more focused gets better, more useful questions?

Yeah, makes total sense. People need a starting point or they just freeze up. Good call.

Right, @claire_ross61, like giving a cat a map.

Totally agree with what Andrew was getting at with that cat map thing. Read an article once about how our brains just shut down when faced with a totally blank page or a huge task with no clear first step. It's like the brain goes, "Nope, too much, not doing it." Giving someone even a tiny, simple starting point is the key to getting past that mental block. It doesn't even have to be a good step, just any step at all to break the ice.
