Honestly visited the Grand Canyon last week and the parking situation made me want to scream

Tbh I drove 8 hours to see the South Rim and ended up circling the lot for almost 45 minutes before finding a spot near the visitor center. There were like 200 cars just waiting for people to leave and no attendants directing traffic at all. For a national park that gets 6 million visitors a year, why can't they figure out a better system? Has anyone else dealt with this mess at a major tourist spot?

Booked the shuttle from Tusayan once and parked there (super easy, like $15 for the day) and honestly that saved my trip.

Yeah I read somewhere they started running those shuttles more often now, cuts down the chaos of trying to find a spot near the gate by like an hour.

The $15 deal at Tusayan is exactly what I did last spring. @the_lucas I left my car there for three days and just took the shuttle in, it was that simple. Plus you don't have to deal with the headache of circling the parking garage for thirty minutes.
