I read a post here where someone asked if they should tell their friend about a bad haircut.
The person said their friend got a haircut that looked awful, and they weren't sure if being honest was worth hurting their feelings. It made me think about how often we avoid small truths to keep the peace. When have you chosen to be bluntly honest, and did it work out?

Wow, I used to lie but honesty actually saved a friendship once!

My friend Jake lied about forgetting her birthday party last year. She finally told the truth about being scared of big groups, and they worked out a smaller hangout instead. That one hard conversation fixed months of weirdness between them.

That reminds me of how my cousin faked sick to skip my wedding, @dianawilson.

Once I confessed to eating my friend's leftover pizza and somehow that brought us closer.
