My neighbor's dog ate my moving invoice, now what?

Last week I was packing up a house in Austin and the client's golden retriever snagged a printed invoice off the table, chewed it to shreds before I could stop him. The client laughed it off but I had already emailed them the PDF so no big deal money wise. But it got me thinking, how do you guys handle paperwork when you're on site with pets around? Do you keep everything digital on your phone or still print stuff out? Has anyone else had a job go sideways because of an animal or something weird like that?

Wait, are you even legally obligated to keep the physical copy if you've got the digital one backed up and sent? Cause I had a tree job where a goat ate my liability waiver and the homeowner tried to claim I never had them sign it, but I had a photo on my phone from two minutes before, so it held up fine. That's the real trick, snap a pic of any paper the second it leaves your hand, cause animals and weird stuff are the least of your worries compared to a customer who suddenly "forgets" what they agreed to.
